Finding Encouragement in the strangest of places.....

You know its funny that today things weren't going well at all I was running late to get a stool sample to the hospital (my 18 month old is having tummy troubles now) and only having an hour to get all of us ready, out the door and across town to the hospital, After a morning of collecting a stool sample out of a diaper (just fyi its not fun), getting toothpaste in your hair right before you walk out the door and then discovering a poopy smelling spot on my jeans as I was driving down the road (I have no idea where that came from either lol) one would think that I would be in a "poopy mood" and surprisingly I wasn't. I look at all those icky parts of my job as Wife and Mommy and smile because I am blessed beyond words to have a husband, 2 sons, great friends and a wonderful family. Sometimes in my walk I stumble and feel like I'm not fulfilling God's call for my life because I'm just a wife and a mom. But days like today really encourage me to keep on truckin'. I really feel like God has called me to stay home and focus on raising our children in a Godly home. Days like today show me that home is where my heart needs to be. My husband and our kids need me even if it means they will get their toothpaste in my hair and their poop on my pants. This is a very thankless job most days but I feel that God blesses me with the opportunity to stay home so that in itself is better than a thousand thank you's

My hope for all the wives and mommies out there that no matter how bad the day is or how discouraged you may be feeling that there is always something to be thankful for. No matter the job big or small there is a great reward. For me the reward is knowing that I met my families needs and that I am serving God's (current) purpose for my life. Bad days happen for me more than I'd like to admitt but after today I hope that I am able to think back on today and turn a bad day into a day to be grateful for no matter how poopy it can be :)
